- Oh his Poppa was a lawyer
an' his Momma was a judge
his Grampa was a hangman
an' Granma don't make fudge
-
- Oh, he wasn't good in school, no
an' he wasn't good at sports
He was just a slow boy
who sometimes messed his shorts
-
- He was the blues
those godawful dogcatcher blues
Those terrible blues, those miserable blues, those horrible blues
And when you saw him comin'
it was the comin' of th' blues
Those terrible blues, those miserable blues, those horrible blues
those godawful dogcatcher blues
- His Poppa said we gotta
do somethin' with this boy
So they called in all their favors
and found some peace and joy
-
- An' if he found your cat out
your dog or little bird
he'd throw his net around them
an' add 'em to his herd
He was the blues
those godawful dogcatcher blues
Those terrible blues, those miserable blues, those horrible blues
And when you saw him comin'
it was the comin' of th' blues
Those terrible blues, those miserable blues, those horrible blues
those godawful dogcatcher blues
-
- Yes, he would take your friend out
the last you ever had
Cause he had this little sideline
with a biologic lab
- Your last friend would go dancin'
with a scientist in white
an' be dead by mornin'
from shakin' through the night
-
- He was the blues
those godawful dogcatcher blues
Those terrible blues, those miserable blues, those horrible blues
And when you saw him comin'
it was the comin' of th' blues
Those terrible blues, those miserable blues, those horrible blues
those godawful dogcatcher blues
-
- But they found him dead one mornin'
from more than just one bite
All those dead friends came down on 'im
an' killed him just for spite
- He got the blues, he got the blues
- those godawful dogcatcher blues
-
